Launch Preschool Director
Position Overview:
The role of the Launch Preschool Director is to lead, develop, and oversee Launch Preschool, a ministry of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, in a way that reflects Calvary’s mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ. The Director is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where children ages 3–5 grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
This role requires a firm grasp of Calvary’s mission, vision, beliefs, values, and strategy, along with the ability to align staff, families, and preschool programming with those priorities. The Director will provide leadership in administration, staffing, curriculum, and parent engagement while also serving as a teacher within the preschool.
The Launch Preschool Director is responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and the core values of Calvary. The Director should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ and strive to fulfill their purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.
These objectives are accomplished by:
- Committing to a daily quiet time with God
- Participating in a Calvary small group on a regular basis
- Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity
- Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church
- Supporting the ministries of Calvary by faithfully giving at least a tithe
- Adhering to and emulating the qualities and characteristics required of Calvary employees, as defined by the Employee Handbook
Basic Qualifications & Expectations:
- Demonstrate a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus and a passion for children and families
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of preschool teaching experience
- Agreement with Calvary Bible Fellowship Church’s Articles of Faith
- Ability to lead, recruit, and develop a team
- Strong relational skills with parents, children, and staff
- Must obtain and maintain all required state and federal clearances
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., and actively engage with children throughout the day
- Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for Launch Preschool as a ministry of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise preschool staff, fostering a healthy and Christ-centered team culture
- Oversee the planning and implementation of curriculum to ensure it is developmentally appropriate and supports the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual growth of each child
- Teach in the classroom, modeling excellence in early childhood education and Christ-centered instruction
- Ensure a safe, clean, and orderly learning environment, including regular inspection of classrooms, materials, and facilities
- Build strong, positive relationships with parents through clear, consistent, and welcoming communication
- Conduct tours for prospective families and oversee student registration and enrollment processes
- Maintain accurate student records, portfolios, and required documentation
- Develop and manage the preschool calendar in coordination with the church calendar
- Oversee and manage the preschool budget responsibly
- Partner with church leadership and ministries to align the preschool with the broader mission of Calvary
Knowledge & Skills Needed:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lead and develop a team with clarity, encouragement, and accountability
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and education practices
- Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day details
- Ability to work effectively with parents, staff, church leadership, and children
- Basic proficiency with computers, communication tools, and record-keeping systems
- Friendly, patient, flexible, and dependable
Hours:
Part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week)
Additional time may be required for special events, registration periods, and preschool-related activities
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Senior Pastor.
